Re: NBA Playoffs Thread
i noticed Marv Albert and Mark Jackson at the broadcast booth, the Nets booth for the YES network. Do they have local broadcasts for the playoffs? Or maybe they're just doing the radio broadcast? Someone explain plz.

Re: NBA Playoffs Thread
the Nets need a Charles Oakley enforcer type that can come in and throw Varejo into the 3rd row.

Re: NBA Playoffs Thread
Where are all the Nets fans on 2+2? Are they just not in this thread? Half the 20 something males I know in New York are Nets fans.

[ QUOTE ] I third Walton's sentiment. He also just spent two minutes clamoring about John Stockton. I'm glad I started liking Walton, because a year ago that would've driven me crazy. [/ QUOTE ] He is def. an aquired taste. At least he's cut back on using "greatest ________ in the history of the NBA" in recent years. [/ QUOTE ] I love when he does this as long as it is something ridiculous like "Best side out of bounds inbound passer in league history..." |

It's hard to take him seriously, but I love Walton because he'll actually say non-obvious, slightly off the cuff stuff sometimes. The anti-Reggie Miller.

Re: NBA Playoffs Thread
[ QUOTE ]
Nets-Cavs: difference in the series so far has obviously been rebounding. Somehow New Jersey's two guards (Kidd and Carter) have accounted for 57% of the Net's total rebounds (39/69). For them to win their frontcourt has to act like the big goofy mother [censored] they are and crash the boards. I think with a couple days for Lawrence Frank to yell at them it'll happen here in game 3. Also look for the Nets so far non-existant transition game to pick up somewhat. I think the Nets take this one without too much trouble. [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: Dee Brown to miss tonight\'s game
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] what an interesting lineup. boozer okur harpring kirilinko giricek. anyone else notice something weird there? [/ QUOTE ] they're all white (-ish, in Boozer's case. Is he Mulatto or something? Or just the whitest black guy in the league? Maybe 3 years at Duke does that to a guy). [/ QUOTE ] Is Jason Kidd black?? |

Re: Dee Brown to miss tonight\'s game
Boozer and Kidd are both half-black. Boozer is from Alaska and went to Duke, so I'm bestowing honorary whiteness on him.
Also, if Kidd was Ron Artest Bill Walton would not have given that disgusting speech about how Kidd has overcome his private/personal problems to play basketball well. Derek Fisher is overcoming private problems. Zydrunas Illgauskas is overcoming personal issues. Jason Kidd hits his wife and is undergoing a messy and public divorce because of that. Anyway, God I hate Larry "stupid" Hughes. Mike Brown does a terrible job of preventing stupidity, and his near total incompetence as a coach will haunt the Cavs until such time as they fire his ass. Cavs win this series but will be lucky to take it past 5 against Detroit. |
