$0.25/$0.50 Pokerstars: Overpair - Do I bet out on flop?
PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, 2 folds, CO calls, Button calls, SB completes, Hero raises, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, CO calls, Button calls, SB calls. Flop: (12 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 players) SB checks, Hero checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 bets, CO calls, Button folds, SB calls, Hero calls, UTG+1 calls. Turn: (8.50 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players) SB checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 raises, MP1 3-bets, CO folds, SB folds, Hero caps, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls. River: (20.50 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 bets, Hero calls, UTG+1 calls. Final Pot: 23.50 BB Early on in a standard Microlimit table (40-45% players see flop, average pot of $3). I'm really confused about the flop (do I go for a checkraise when one of the late people tries for a bet) and the turn (do I bet? do I cap?). I'm thinking SSHE about "Two Overpairs Hands" section. I think in this instance I'm very close to the AA hand (vs. the TT), but the difference between this hand and the book is that I'm in early position after the flop. What's the play? |

Re: $0.25/$0.50 Pokerstars: Overpair - Do I bet out on flop?
You were the pfr...why do you think somebody else will bet the hand for you, allowing you to c/r? So, you bet. On the turn, you bet again, depending on the remainder of the flop action.

Just bet the flop. Your hand is vulnerable, you do not have a monster. I pity the fool who slow plays this.

Re: $0.25/$0.50 Pokerstars: Overpair - Do I bet out on flop?
You were the pfr....chances are someone will not bet the hand for you. You got lucky and someone did bet the hand for you and you...called?? NO! Raise!
Turn..no way Im capping here facing a raise and a 3 bet when a card that completes a flush drops. You may have to call a cap anyway, but that doesn't mean you should cap it yourself. River is fine, the turn should have thrown you into WA/WB mode. |
