Hey,

This guy is legit, as is his story, except for that I mention the forums "ALL THE TIME". If you don't trust him, you can PM the locations to me and I'll email them to him.

Anyone who plays in the two remaining private games knows not to disclose this information to anyone, not even their friends. The owners don't want any new players without their prior approval, its as simple as that. They have a lot more to lose than you do, their investments are significantly bigger than your buy-in if you are there during a raid.

PS: a raid occurred last night

TT,

I wasn't really aware of the desperate state of the games in NY - the first and last time I played in one was January 2005, which sounds like the glory days of NYC underground poker.

Its practically over.. most of the games have moved to peoples homes and other one table situations. Luckily there are some really great "home" games, including a few huge rotation games.

How glad am I that I live in Canada?

Between your tax laws, online gambling laws, and crap like this I can't believe there hasn't been a massive influx of American players moving here. Maybe there has and I don't know it.

Land of the free my ass...

Poker in NYC is never going to die. But unless David Dinkins gets back in office, the days of card rooms run better than AC or Foxwoods appear to be officially dead...

Dinkins for Mayor in '08!

go down any alley and knock on a back door. when it opens they will say "what do you want?" which is their code asking for the password. you should reply "Your mother is a whore" This is the standard code for all rooms in NYC
