Apparently the state of Maryland shuts down with the appearance of a snowflake. I'm from Illinois and it takes basically a 4 blizzards at once to shut down everything. It's quite sad actually, people need to stop worrying so much. It's ok if there is an inch of snow on the ground, the world will not come to an end.

All Wednesday (Feb. 14) classes at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign have been cancelled. Continuing high winds and snow have made it impossible to keep streets and sidewalks clear and safe.
