Default NL400 - WTF Stop Calling?

Villain is another terrible party player. I have him at 24/6/0.5. Should I even fire this turn? I hit the straight on the river, but does that really improve my hand that much?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

He's passive enough that a weak block bet should be enough to see a cheap showdown. I bet 100 on the river and fold to a raise. The only other option I'd consider is c/f here.

Wow, this is kind of a sick spot.

What hands do we actually beat? 79/A9 are the only ones i think. But I don't think he bets so we might lose a little value with a check.

He could easily have 98/9J/9Q here. But we can't exactly bet/fold because he could raise with another str8.

I dunno, it looks like he sux, so I prob am willing to get in by betting $200.

Yeah, I know my reason might seem weak sauce. Curious about a better response tho.

The fact that you are even considering that we are behind here is insanely -ev. If he happens to have us beat here, pay him, its +ev in the long run. The real question is, do we check raise this river. This board is absolutely terrifying and even a 0.5 af will probably bluff at it, possibly shove. Its a really tempting checkraise, but i put in a bluff inducing bet. He only has 230 left, so if we put in a V-bet of about 50% of the pot, he won't shove cause he'll have less than a minraise left. I bet $90 here instead of $100, for a few specific significant reasons:

a) He will call $90 slightly more than $100, almost enough to make the two amount neutral ev
b) He will bluff-shove into $90 infinitely more than he will into $100.

clffs: bet 90
