This is the kind of flop where something in your subconscious is screaming "WE COULD MAKE A ROYAL FLUSH HERE!!!!" It doesn't care how remote the possibility is, it doesn't care how obvious your villains are making the fact you are drawing to a gutshot or backdoor flush, it just sees 3 broadway cards of the same suit and wants to see more.
