Ezy Push , Raise/snapcall or Raise/fold?
20$R on Mansion
29 left, 27 get paid i have been pretty active and have an agressive image opening and 3 betting a lot of pots. blinds are 1200/2400 ante 120 average is 28k if that should be relevant table is 7 handed folded to me on the button i have ATo stacks: Me: 31k SB: 28k BB: 35k no real reads on SB and BB, but both seem rather tightish Normally i hate opening on the button in these spots as you are just inviting them to resteal on you. But here i have a decent hand and i think i have to open the pot. i think i have 3 options here: a) open push ( a big raise considering the small ante) b) raise to 6k ( my standard raise) and snapcalling a push c) raise to 6k and folding to a push which one is best? |

Re: Ezy Push , Raise/snapcall or Raise/fold?
I vote c but maybe im too tight i dunno. Im not really looking to gamble here and unless these guys have been restealing alot then im not afraid to lay it down. I dont think tihgt players as youve labled them are usually going to do this on the bubble without a decent hand to back them up. One which is either a flip or dominating you.
BTW my 2nd choice would be push, i can think of plenty of good arguments for that too. I think think a standard raise accomplishes the same thing usually especially if you have a loose image and they dont think they have much FE. |

This is very read dependent. Also, it makes a big difference whether the SB or BB reshoves on you. I think making your standard raise is fine. Probably folding to shoves against many opponents.

Re: Ezy Push , Raise/snapcall or Raise/fold?
This question is not only read-dependent, but also dependent on the payout structure. In a satellite I would fold. In a tourney with a flat, slow increasing payout structure (where it already is a big win to get ITM) I would make it 5k to go (which is more scary than your normal raise and will be as hardly or as easily called/restolen as 6k). If you aim at a top-level-payout I would immediately push. Remember that you´re not in a comfortable position any more (having an M < 10) and the pot already makes 10% of your stack.

Shoving +10BBs is generally bad.
In such an awkward spot I tend to do something out of the ordinary to confuse villains even more. For example minraise (as this is interpreted as AA/KK/QQ/AK most of the time) or raise bigger than 3x (for example 11.111) to show them that they are not screwing around here. |

Yes - my first intention was to make it 10k to go as well, but what would you do against a shove then?

Re: Ezy Push , Raise/snapcall or Raise/fold?
Call...as I'm pot committed (at least the SB .. haven't done the math for BB). The whole idea was to not give villain a chance to shove junk for a re-steal. I want to put the tough decisions on my opponents. A bigger raise tells them that we are not going away and we are pretty confident about our hand.
An open-push my be interpreted as a steal and you might get a call from AT or smaller pairs to keep you honest. But the same hands may fold to a bigger raise... |

Re: Ezy Push , Raise/snapcall or Raise/fold?
Raise and call a push! Even tight people realize Button raises can be any hand and therefore push a wide range here. I'm not folding in this situation after investing 20% of my stack. This is not an attempt to steal the blinds, it's a value raise with a nice hand.
