I'm getting the 500 NJ chip set. After doing some research I was thinking of the following breakdown for .25/.50NL and .50/1NL:
125 x .25 200 x 1.00 125 x 5.00 50 x 25.00 This should be fine correct? |

well i intend to play more .5/1 NL and the games tend to get fairly deep. i figured between 25-50 of the 25.00 would be the way to go...do you still think i should scratch the 25's?

![]() My experience is that people really like being able to chip up to high value chips when they are doing well for the night. It just makes you feel like a high roller. So I would definitely keep the $25's. |

I found that playing .50/1.00 90% of your stack is $1 chips
Playing 1/2 or 1/3 90% of your stack is $5 chips. Having 2 stakes of 20 of .25cent chips becomes very annoying and old. The best bet is to have about 8 quarters each and then keep the rest the higher denom. Just my .02 from my home ring games. |

I would say that 500 chips is enough to run a game, but not enough to run the game that I prefer. I like having a LOT of chips on the table, so I prefer to have a TON of smaller denomination chips. I have enough that each player starts with ~ 20 x small blind chips.
But that's just me. |
