Default Settle ANOTHER argument (Limit O8 tourney)

Ok, so a buddy of mine was heads up with another guy at the end of a live Limit O8 tourney at the Orleans. It's their weekly friday noon tourney which I think is $40 and a $20 rebuy plus $5 for the dealers. Something like that.

Anyway, my friend is in the BB with four bad cards (something along the lines of QT83 rainbow) and at least a 3:1 chip advantage, something like 56,000:18,000 in chips. Blinds are a 2,000/4,000.

The villain raises in the small blind to 8,000. He is a pretty questionable player.

Another one of my friends was arguing that he had to call because he could win the tourney right there if he can hit the flop hard, and any four vs. antoher random hand is never that far behind.

My friend in the tourney actually folded and waited for a better spot, but the next two times he got his villain all in with a favorite, the villain sucked out on him pretty badly and he ended up in 2nd.

You probably need to call. I'd just assume that any decent draw or 2 pair is good and take it from there.

I fold, wait for a better spot, though I suck HU.
Although I agree that you're never that far behind.

Even with inflated blinds, I have no problem with turning down QT83r in exchange for a better than 2:1 chip advantage HU against a 'questionable player'.

I'm folding here. At least wait for a hand with a decent low draw.

i fold. your oop and ur not shallow enough that u need to worry about taking him out right here. wait for a better spot, i mean this hand is garbage and ur hoping for a KJ9 flop or something to that extent.

I'd fold it. You can get a better spot than this not only by being dealt a better hand, but by being the raiser and having some fold equity. I think folding and raising the next hand blind might have better expectation than calling here.

Uh, guys, 3:1 and position is enough to call almost anything...this is the 74o of O8 but I'd need 72o to fold.

Oh yeah, it's that role reversal thing for HU, isn't it. You're right, fold.

I'd wait for a better spot. Sucks that the guy came back from the 3:1 deficit and won, but that's poker Doesn't make calling here any more right.
