Villain doesn't look tight aggressive to me from his stats. He looks pretty loose passive preflop and lord knows what post flop. Probably loose passive, and "fishy".

So he definitely hit a hand if that is the case. Either tripped with an eight, flush is most obvious, saved his set for the turn, or FH. Rarely (but occassionally I suppose) ZOMG I've got 2 pair with Ax. We have 2 outs, maybe 3-4 to beat the flush. Call it 3. pot 7.75 to one. Drawing odds are 1 in 15ish. Looks like you folded it right to me.

If you are comfortable with the read it's an easy fold. If not and you think he might be a "scare merchant" making a move at a scary board, then call him down. But you should probably have a good read before you do that I think. And you can't afford to do it very often so it's cheaper to let someone else do it.

Bona, JJ is asking how we'd play it against this villian and also a tag.

given this guy is SLPP I fold. Scaremerchants are few and far between and most of them are LAGs or MANAICs rather than tags. It is alot closer if this guy is tag but still I probably would want to have seen this particular player trying to be a 'scare merchant' or at least see him CR too much.

grunching.

Have you noticed any specific hands he has played? He seems soooo passive postflop.

If he's so passive, he won't be raising on the flop for a free card even if he has a flush draw. He wont' be raising that turn either with a one card flush draw. Most prob he's got a made hand. i think bet/fold line is good here.
