what are his methods of collecting?

[/ QUOTE ]

Here thay are and in this order:

1) Ask politely for cash
2) Ask for cash in a threatening manner
3) Rough up the client (soft areas only)
4) Mess face up
5) Break fingers

He stops there if unsuccessful, but he will show up numerous times doing the same stuff each time.

How is it zero percent chance of being traced back to you? Seems like a pretty good chance imo.

What you should have done in the first place.

1) Pay for TV with American Express
2) Ask for TV repair politely
3) Call American Express and reverse charge
4) Buy same TV and a different location

same kind of deal happened to me, it took me about an hour to figure out the problem, and the problem was that the outlet got [censored] up from the storm, try to plug it in a different outlet and see if it works.

OP, it sounds like you either bought this TV at A) a pawn shop, or B) a small electronics store. I'm not sure where in the country you live, but after having many dealings with pawn shop owners and other small business owners, the likelyhood of the highlighted portions is pretty high.

I'd put it at 75% if he pulls this stunt on a Pawn broker.
