This is why you make sure and have a good insurance company who won't try to [censored] you when you need to file a claim.

We both have USAA. Basically everything I have heard is that it is near the top in every category especially considering how much cheaper it is than almost everything else.

Ok, I have 2 not at fault accidents. Neither of them raised my rates. For two different companies. So you are wrong.

For the record, if you're not going to report minor accidents raise your deductible if you haven't already.

For instance the guy who paid $1300 out of pocket on an accident should have at least a $1300 deductible or he's throwing away money.

It is the most famous gimmick account as I understand it.

This doesn't deserve respect but niether does the 20 years I have spent in the auto industry dealing directly with insurance companies. That is a ton of time to gain misinformation!!!

This is the exact reason I gained fame as a lurker. Besides there is already a resident insurance expert in this forum. 2 accidents qualifies, right?

daryn,

Thats pretty funny.

Ironically you have played poker against FGS at Foxwoods at either a $5-10 limit w/ kill hold em, or 10-20 limit hold em a few years ago.

Results:

Yesterday, I met Vilma's husband Oscar at the Starbucks at Hollywood and Western. Our wives had managed to give each of us different locations (surprise!) so it took 45 minutes to connect (they have no cell phone) but we got it done. Oscar was quite tired from his 2nd job working the graveyard shift cleaning at Target and was also a little warm from taking the bus to meet me in 100 degree weather. He was not remotely fluent in English and absolutely had no idea what he was signing when I presented him with a release of liability/agreement not to sue.

So I walked away with like a week of this poor bastard's ridiculously hard-earned money because his wife sucks at driving. I'm conflicted by all of this. Anybody who thinks I shouldn't cash the check and turn this into a random act of kindness let me know.

Nah, cash it. Think about it this way - you may have saved them from paying well over the cash value to fix your car via raised premiums if you turned it in to her insurance company.

Think about that as your good deed, cash the check, fix your car.
