Ulkis - Another look at your 55 hand
Here is a hand that Ulkis played on our practice table. Button is CrMenace. (SB was 27/3.7/0.67 over 26 hands - bit fishy)
PokerStars 0.02/0.04 Hold'em (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) Preflop: Ulkis is BB with 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 5 folds, Button raises, SB calls, BB calls. Flop: (6 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) SB checks, BB ??? Having just looked at this again, I think as BB, I would have check/folded the flop. What does everyone else think ? |

Re: Ulkis - Another look at your 55 hand
This is a steal situation so I'd either 3-bet pre-flop or c/r this flop. You don't want this to go past the flop though or it could get expensive.

This isn't the best hand example at a 2+2 table because they tend to be looney no-fold aggro monkey fests. At a standard table I wouldn't mind a c/r or c/f if SB c/rs this. If villain checks it through re-evaluate on the turn. |

Re: Ulkis - Another look at your 55 hand
Without knowing how CrM plays, I check/fold, maybe bet a safe looking turn if it checks through. Reason being, if we're ahead, it's probably not by much, and I'd expect to get looked up really lightly if I get agressive since it may look like we're overplaying a big diamond in a steal spot.

Re: Ulkis - Another look at your 55 hand
well, I was and am very embarrassed about this hand, in the past 2 months it is definately in my top 3 worst played hands and a reason why my BB/100 has gotten up in August was that I don't do this often anymore. As a hint what I did...I feel really gay about it;-)
Well, better lucky than smart. |

Re: Ulkis - Another look at your 55 hand
I almost always 3bet this pf and bet/fold the flop. Button could have a bigger pair, but usually has either a bare ace (and is trying to steal) or else two high cards. Since the flop will miss him 67% of the time, I tend to be a bit aggressive with my pairs in the blinds against a steal.
