Re: PokerFink\'s NFC Rankings (Week 1)
I think Dallas should of got atleast a little love for their W without arguably their best defender (T-Newman), but meh.
GB and NO will plummet. |

Re: PokerFink\'s NFC Rankings (Week 1)
Yeah, SF at 6 and Arizona at 11 is retarded.

Re: PokerFink\'s NFC Rankings (Week 1)
Dallas shouldn't get that much love when you consider the Giants were without their best pass rusher and running back for most of the game. They still should go up, though.
Clarkmeister and Slappz made some great posts in this thread |

Re: PokerFink\'s NFC Rankings (Week 1)
To anyone going nuts, read his rules in the link provided. There won't be a lot of big movers based on one week. He picked SF for the wild card preseason, so given the way he does the rankings I'm not surprised that they are still there. Generally the rankings are very good and you'll see the teams mentioned slide up or down if they perform similarly this week.

Re: PokerFink\'s NFC Rankings (Week 1)
Dallas below Washington is hilarious. If/When Ellis and Newman come back, it'll help big. Losing Glenn won't bad, but losing Fergason is rough. I still have them top 5 NFC.

Re: PokerFink\'s NFC Rankings (Week 1)
Well, I have a pretty different take on it. I think my top 3 teams are clearly the best in the NFC right now, while the middle teams are somewhat interchangeable. My rankings would be something along these lines:
1. SEATTLE Defense looked good, Alexander looks like he's back. 2. CHICAGO Defense looks good, Offense does not look improved over last year. 3. CAROLINA Defense looked good, Steve Smith looks like he has fully recovered. 4. NEW ORLEANS Horrific 2nd half against the Colts. They should look much better against Tampa Bay. 5. DALLAS Dallas can score and it doesn't look like Philly or Washington can. 6. PHILADELPHIA Looked horrible. 7. WASHINGTON Up and coming. 8. ST. LOUIS Looked bad against a good Carolina Defense. 9. DETROIT Very young, but could be one of the NFC's most potent offenses. 10. SAN FRANSISCO Defense looked good, Alex Smith made a couple of plays on the final drive. 11. NEW YORK Would be higher, but Manning injury a big question mark. 12. GREEN BAY You aren't going to win many games if your offense doesn't score a touchdown. 13. MINNESOTA I may have them ranked too low, but not ready to jump on the bandwagon until they play a real team. 14. Arizona Lienart has no mobility and happy feet. They looked terrible. 15. TAMPA BAY Offense is horrible and Defense did not look sharp 16. ATLANTA Bad Newz |

Stop putting the Eagles so high, they are not that good. Carolina is way too low.

Re: PokerFink\'s NFC Rankings (Week 1)
Leinart didn't look great in week one, but the Cards looked way better in all the area's they were awful last year. If Leinart's play is their biggest concern this year it probably means they are going to be a winning team...
/edit I also thought they completely outplayed the 49ers, in SF... |

Re: PokerFink\'s NFC Rankings (Week 1)
The Cardinals are cursed.
Also did anyone think it was dumb to run it up the gut on 3rd and long with over 3:30 left. They have giant exceptional recievers, shouldn't they be able to convert that.. The Monday night team was saying how smart it was to run, and then later after they were about to lose were second guessing it. I thought that was a stupid play since the 49ers will have time enough either way. Also Seahawks are too low, should be #1 because they have the best team overall in the conference. The defense has looked better than it did in their super bowl year, and much better than last year in the secondary and at defensive end. Add healthy SA (still runs like a girl when not near the endzone) and hasselback and they are really good. |
