We should set up a new thread discussing how the Woods 10-20 actually plays. I find it to be very tight if someone raises pf and very passive if everyone limps.

If ill rich sees it like the 4-8, it may be because sometimes the odds on the flop in unr pots justify a lot of chasing. Since flop raises are rare, the odds are there.

Anyway this is a digression. A number of 20-40 players say their game is much more profitable then the 10-20. I think they mean in bets/hr, not just $/hr.

Geez, how many 2+2ers are regulars in the 20/40 and 40/80 at Bay101/GC? You, Rowboat, Coelacanth, etc. . . .

The time I don't like the 40/80 game is when there is no 100 game going (or a long list) and the table has a number of 100/200 regulars "slumming" while they wait for the bigger game. They tend to be pretty tough to begin with, and the aggression factor seems to get magnified by the fact that they're playing in what is to them a low limit game.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm definitely a local, but with two small kids I can only manage one night a week of live play, so I may be incorrect in passing myself off as a "regular." Still, I know many of the players at these limits from previous years when I played more often, and the generalizations that have been posted are accurate. These days I typically play mid-week, usually on Tuesday nights. If you play then, drop a "'Sup, Bro?" into the conversation and I'll out myself.

Also, I think your comments about 100/200 players in the 40/80 sre spot on. The funniest thing is when there's a shorthanded 100/200 that busts, and the remaining players agree to start a new 20/40 or 40/80. Talk about sharks in the water One of those instances where the Must Move is now MUCH harder than the main game.

Thanks for all the info Foxwoods guys the mid limit games sound great out there.

What about Tunica?
Let's hear about the mid limit regular games down there.
How are they, including amount of games spread, fishiness and overall playing environment?

I doubt Tunica has suddenly changed since the last few days when it was discussed upthread: Horseshoe Tunica is a honest game with real people, but I have not seen it go higher than 20/40. People who want more action are forced to put up lots of live straddles and the like to get more money into play. Could be I have not been there at the right time but I just haven't seen anything higher than 20/40 and sometimes not even that.

Cool Thanks Goodgrief.

Here is the latest "Best Mid LHE List" based on responses in this thread.

1)LA
2)Northern CA
3)Arizona
4)Atlantic City
5)Foxwoods
6)Minnesota
7)Vegas
8)Tunica

PS - Since Vegas mid limits have been in a nosedive lately is it getting any better the first few days of the WSOP?
Anyone played mid limit hold em yet at the Rio or Bellagio, Wynn, Venetian yet this week?

From the Rio - 2 tables on average of 10/20, 20/40. Often a 50/100 table.

PS - your insane if you think Minnesota is below AC and Foxwoods on that list, just because there are a few fantastic players in the game doesn't mean the games are bad, overall that is probably the best 30/60 in the country . In fact the games are probably better than Phoenix games (but the highest limit is 30/60)

Thanks TT I was being modest, It's my humble midwest nature but I do agree that MN produces many top notch LHE players.
I just gave Foxwoods and AC the lead on the list as it sounds like they have more and higher limits than we have here.
Also how are the mid limits doing at Bellagio, Wynn and Venetian during the early WSOP?

It wasn't as juicy as it was 2 years ago, but it was still good. But even back then, from what I heard, it still wasn't as good as the games of similar limit in LA or Vegas.

Spread limit is one prime reason.

On top of that Wa St. upped the limits at non tribals to $40. I hear Lil's is running a regular 20-40 now. Mucks still gets one(usually on weekends), but not near as regular as it used to go.
