Default Play the turn different?

Flop went perfectly, but could I have gotten the rest of his chips out of him or is it just a case of he took a shot at the pot on the flop and gave up after I called.

Maybe a $2 min bet would have induced a desperation check raise.

hard to say what villain has or is thinking, but why not re raise on the flop? villain is putting in enough action there where if he has anything he would call half his stack is out there

if he checks to on turn, I like a check behind.

Any of the hands you are worried about catching up will push turn.. you know any 9xxx hand. I also don't think he check if he was semi-bluffing with a draw on flop like 8TJ* or or 8T** w/ spades. I think he just goes with the push in those situations as well. All that really leaves is something like KK** or air. Maybe you got max value because this player is educated enough not to desperately push the river. So I think anytime he has a semblance of a hand he'll do the bet for you, and when he doesnt.. he may do the betting for you on the river. Most often this is a one shot deal though I think

He clearly put me on AA on the flop and clearly knew he couldn't beat AA nor outdraw it on the turn. So yes, total air is most likely.

i would have re raised maximum on flop. if he has nut flush draw with 2 cards to come, he might go for the ride but once the turn blanks, a lot of people give up.

people get goofy with 2 cards to come. they like to gamble.

but some how, i think he had air too and made a nice play on flop........if you had naked aces........lol, but you didnt

also, he raises you and you get cute and smooth call and the turn is a queen and villan ends up with having some kind of open ender with pocket queens.

i know this is mathematically unlikely and not the right way to look at poker from a long run perspective but whenever i can lock up profits on the flop, i go for it and re raise back. if he wants to get stupid lucky or chase drawing dead, then he's going to pay maximum right then and there for i dont know exactly what 4 cards he holds. he might just have a 9 in his hand too and your smooth call might freeze him up.

i say re raise the flop. i say mostly good things can happen and if they get lucky, then at least you know that you made him pay maximum to get lucky.

I think your line is great... I think $20 would have been a perfect turn lead IMO....I think the donk lead is VERY useful in PLO, as long as you use it quite often, otherwise it is not as useful. I like to donk quite often and have taken down a decent amount of pots I could have never won without it. It also tends to lead to weak CRs that can be exploited both with and without a hand.
