its not so much the cash as the gesture - just a ticket to the monthly 530 or something that would make it worthwhile... Saying 'hey we'd like to show your FT and heres a ticket if you let us expose your cards' is slightly better PR than saying 'FU we already make 100k off this baby but would like some free promo material as well and were not even going to consult you on the matter'

Don't you think its kind of wrong to tack on this requirement without giving anything in return to the players?

they are putting up 1 million guaranteed

What if they only put up ten dollars guaranteed? Isn't it effectively the same thing at this point?

Well, I think it's stupid and I am not playing next Sunday. I doubt enough people will decline to play to get an overlay, but I suspect that a noticable drop in entries next week will get their attention.

Also, sure give the FTers a ticket for showing their hole cards, lol. This thread is weird.

I think a few people are way overstating how much this actually hurts you, the player.

[/ QUOTE ]I don't think it's that big of a deal, I just want a choice to play and not have my hole cards shown.

Exactly. And they give you a choice of 8-zillion other tourneys that do NOT show your hole-cards.
So if them showing the hole-cards if you make the FT bothers you that much then not playing the only tourney that DOES show the FT hole-cards is a fine choice.

I don't understand ppl who are saying we're overreacting here.

No one is saying this is the end of the world, but we're an organized community that affords us the possibility to advocate poker players' rights, especially in our case online MTTers' rights, and even if it's just a small drop in a big bucket this change in policy is still really not a good thing for PStars to do to players.

Even if we don't change a thing, even if the best case scenario is that they read the thread, think about it for half a minute, and next time when they are thinking of implementing a new policy take an extra second of considering the players' perspective and/or are just a little more reluctant to implement a policy that they know to be anti-player because we've proven that there are activist, vocal, watchdogs in the world then it's a job very well done imo.

I guess it's completely unreasonable of me to think Stars would want as many people in the tournament as they can get...
