good book for omaha/8ob noobie???
i realize that there is a forum for books, but most of the topics in there consist of hold'em books etc... and figured you guys would know this as well as anybody...
any recommendations for a book for someone taking up omaha8??? is there a book that is like SSHE equivalent for Omaha8 or something like that? any advice would be helpful... |

Re: good book for omaha/8ob noobie???
...so on a whim I wander on over to the ' Search ' page and search the Omaha/8 forum for the keyword 'books' in subject and body. I figured the default 1 week date range wound suffice.
I was right... Edit: sorry crabs, nothing personal. Stick around for a few months, you'll understand... |

HLPFAP by Ray Zee
The O8B section in SS2 These are the de facto responses you'll receive. I've also read Krieger/Tenner's O8 book. I thought it was o.k. for someone brand new to the game who was planning to start out at 3/6 and lower limit-wise. Mason didn't give it a very flattering review, but I think that was mostly due to his annoyance with the style of writing. Stay away from Ken Warren's books on the subject. |

Re: good book for omaha/8ob noobie???
no worries bro... i know exactly what you're saying... i've tried to use that search function many many time but have found it extremely inefficient... just thought someone could toss out a name quickly...
also, i'm sure for people who are in this forum regularly, if there is a book that is as golden for omaha8 as SSHE is for LL hold'em, you all have read it and it is old news, so there might not be much chatter about it recently, making the search function even more of a hassle... anyway, i'll give the search function a try... but if there is a clear-cut must read for omaha8, if you could toss out a name i'd appreciate... otherwise i'll make good with what i find... |
