First, full disclosure--I am an active member of the Republican Party.

[/ QUOTE ]

How someone can be a human being and an active member of the Republican party is beyond me.

Idiotic statement.

Awesome counter. Can you explain why my statement is "idiotic"?

Cheney doesn't have any constitutional power or responsibility. How can he be impeached? WHat's the point?

[/ QUOTE ]
The Vice President is the leader of the Senate (sort of like Speaker of the House, but on the Senate side, I forget what it's called exactly). So impeachment of a Vice President is relevant.

This was actually filed a couple months ago. I'm surprised it took this long to make it to the politics forum.

There's a convenient feature called "Ignore this user". You can ban whomever you like in your own little benevolent dictatorship. [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I'm hopeful that eroding support for the republicans will also carry over to dismantling the online gaming legislation.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why would even the elimination of one party affect a bipartisan act of legislation? You're aware taht when this was voted on in the House, more Dems voted for than against, right?

Poking your opponent in the eye does not always weaken their resolve or support.

[/ QUOTE ]

Getting bullied and doing nothing about it seldom weakens their resolve, either.

This bill is symbolic only, but someone should speak up for Cheney's abuse of the Constitution.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, someone should. Someone should also speak up for the abuse of the Constitution by Bush, 534 members of Congress and 8 Supreme Court justices. Naturally, they're not going to speak up about each other, heh.

Which Supreme Court justice hasn't abused the Constitution? And I assume you're excusing Ron Paul of constitutional abuse?

cause there is more than one issue

is it possible to be a republican and pro-choice?
Is it possible to be a democrat and in favor of the war?

[/ QUOTE ]
Being a serious poker player means poker is a pretty big priority to you. How many abortion clinic owners do you think support the current Republican party? How about people that dedicate a lot of time to Anti-War rallies?

[/ QUOTE ]

It is not the republican party that is against online gaming, in fact I'd most republicans are either neutral or in favor of online gaming. It was the actions of a few on both sides that caused the conundrum we are in now.

Burying your head in the sand and blaming republicans for everything you don't like in the world won't help it just makes you look more foolish to the rest of the world.

I concur on the ban or maybe a custom title "Political Ignoramus" might be better.
