Default What to do if you suspect a player is cheating?

Heres the story, I was playing over at Pokerstars $0.25-$0.50 NL today and there was a player there that seemed to be playing every pot, calling every raise with rag hands like 82s, 73o/. But somehow he ended up winning about $100 over about 3 hours of play. After finally leaving after trying to beat this donk several times, I decided to check Pokertracker for his stats.

In 117 hands he never raised once preflop, but called a staggering 87.18%(!!) of the time. Flop AF was 0.27, Turn AF was 1.53 and River AF was 4.00. He won 44.34% of the time.

Am I being paranoid here? Is this kind of donk play common at these stakes and he just got lucky?

Probably just a lucky idiot.

Besides how could he be cheating?

117 hands isn't many. There's lots of people out there playing like this. It can be frustrating to see them win, but he's a guarenteed loser in the long run if this is his normal style of play.

Common.
Lucky.

The type of player I'd look for, and try to have at my table- time and again.

I'm fairly sure his showdown win% would be quite a bit higher than that too, given he could see hole cards or something

Pretty standard. I even seen player who aren't horrible post flop with 75%+ VPIP.

Bad players and bad play can still get lucky and be up a significant amount over a short period of time.

Lol, I'm pretty sure my gf was at this table. She described this exact situation to me when I woke up.

See if JoRoLa was at your table.

Oh yeah, btw, she insta-buddylisted this dude.

If he was cheating, surely he'd go to higher stakes tables?

Most likely to be a donk running hot for a few hours.

Most likely your typical passive donk who just was hitting hands left and right. These players are great, just make a note and look him up when he's cooled down.
