Default nitty question about unbanning a self-requested ban

Indiana requested to be banned a while back. His user notes say:

[ QUOTE ]
Exiled from OOT

Banned at user's request 12/08/06 by Wookie.

[/ QUOTE ]

Then he created Strickly Bidness which hasn't been exiled or banned for longer than a few hours as I remember for minor trolling.

Anyway, I got a PM asking if he could have his Indiana name back with the following explanation:

[ QUOTE ]
i was using the Indiana name long after being exiled so there is no relationship. I personally requested being banned because I was gonna quit 2+2 but my life is too boring if I dont think about poker and I'd like to have my name back. Yah I was a douche in some posts, but nothing like Degen-trash and I never personally offended anybody's race or anything...i just bragged and stuff but I've grown older and wiser and just want to discuss poker openly.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't see any real problem with giving him 'Indiana' back, but he was exiled and I didn't ban him so I thought it might be best to post here before I take any action. Particularly I guess it would be good to hear from Wookie or any OOT mods.

Thanks.

I just banned him because I think he literally asked for it in an ATF thread he started. If he really wants to come back, I guess he can, as long as his OOT exile stays in effect. The guy's a few doughnuts short of a dozen, but I never see him in forums I post in after he'd been exiled from OOT.

i would suggest that a good rule of thumb is that, if a user requests a ban be overturned, it should be approved by ryan, mat or the mod who banned. sounds like wookie has no problem with it. i'd request that he definitely be exiled from OOT if he does return.

I don't see any real problem with banning Strictly Bidness

Honestly I've liked some of his posts but a lot of them have been crap, and a good percentage of those have been pure trolling

Whatever you do, if you do unban him, if you change Indiana's title I will find you and kill you

Haha fair enough. But if I banned every poster that I think sucks, I'm fairly sure it would wipe out 90% of STTF.
