Default I know nothing about California poker

I'll be in LA with a free Thursday night next week. I've got a meeting in Gardena during the day, and my hotel will be near LAX. I'll have a rental car. I like 1/2 NL or limit holdem up to about 10/20.

Where should I play? Is there a site like acpokerguide.com for LA cardrooms? For anyone with AC and CA experience, what differences are there between the games?

Thanks in advance.

Hollywood Park is the most convient to LAX, but Hustler is right in Gardena. Lots of good info at http://poker.wikia.com/wiki/California
The games are much looser/better than in AC in my experience.

That is a great website. But do stay away from Hollywood Park... I'm 6'3" and 235, and I still don't feel safe there.

Why don't you feel safe at Hollywood Park? I have been there several times and thought everything was fine.

I really need to check out this California scene. Way over due. The casinos spread 1/2 limit? Thats pretty gangsta. Its like highschool. Min buyin for Commerce 20/40 is $200? This must be a loose cardroom. Definitly a lot of action. Must be a lot of suckouts too. At the Bicycle 30/60 Buyin is only $300? Dam. How long does that last 10mins? LOL.

Couple of updates re: the Bike info...

They haven't spread 30/60 LHE in ages... however they are spreading 40/80 ($10 chips) LHE semi-regularly now. There's usually 1 table running weeknights and weekends.
