Default 2/4 - This should be an easy one...

For whatever reason I wasn't sure what the standard line was for this hand:

Party Poker
No Limit Hold'em Cash Game
$2/$4 Blinds
6 Players
LegoPoker HH Converter

Stack Sizes
SB: $248.86
Hero (BB): $510
UTG: $627.55
MP: $371.70
CO: $380.85
BTN: $398

Preflop: Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($6, 6 Players)
UTG folds, MP raises to $14, 2 folds, SB calls $12, Hero raises to $54, MP calls $40, SB folds

Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($124, 2 Players)
Hero bets $85, MP calls $85

Turn: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($294, 2 Players)
Hero shoves or checks?

Villian is pretty standard 20/12.

I'd check and call a shove or shove a river.

Check with the A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] shove without it.

Btw id love some reasoning as to why checking or shoving is the best play as well

Jim - Why does having the A spades change things?

Not having it gives him a ton of second best hands that he can call with.

Yes, and I don't think I'm exaggerating.

i like Jim's input about the A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] for sure. for me i think this is more dependent on your double barrel tendancies and his view of them. if you're checking JJ here, i might check, if you're bet/re-evaluating with it and bluffing here, i would just go ahead and shove most the time, all the time without the A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Yeah but if he does have the A spades it's most likely im beat/splitting as AA/AK/AQ are probably the only hands hes calling my 3 bet with.

Just thinking about this hand more im sure it's pretty close vs this type of oppenent as I don't think hes calling 3 bets light so his range is pretty narrow. Whether I check or bet I think he shuts down with a lot of hands im beating. However against a villian that can have a wider range here I think checking is probably a better play.
