Battle Royale sometime in the eighties.
Eight men worked together to throw Andre the Giant
over the top rope out of the ring.

Haven't seen him live (or anything live for a long time), but I saw his match with Samoa Joe in ROH on MySpace before it was taken down.

Oh, cool. Joe vs Kobashi was an awesome atmosphere on the dvd, and now I'm going to see Misawa in a couple weeks when he comes to Philadelphia. The crowd's going to go crazy.

The first thing I thought of when seeing the thread title was the evil twin ref.
I also remember when DiBiase was trying to buy the title belt from Hogan, and it looked like Hogan was going to sell it. Just as it looks like he's going to hand it over, Hulk yells "Hell no!"
I stopped watching wrestling ages ago, and the new stuff just doesn't really look that great. I miss the old AWA days with Mean Gene and Baron von Raschke and stuff.

One of the first that came to mind was Ted DiBiase kicking the basketball away from the kid.

I haven't seen that in a long time.

Now that I watch it again, meh. Took way too long. Didn't generate as much heel heat as I remember.

Here it is: http://youtube.com/watch?v=nwoQ2b3k8Uo

I wonder if I was the only American that rooted for Bret during the America vs Canada feud? IMHO, this is one of the worst moments in WWF history. After an 11 year relationship with each other, Vince still couldn't trust Bret to forfeit the title the next night on Raw? Then they could have done something sweet like put the title on the line in the Royal Rumble match (as in 1992). Bret was foolish though. No way he should have allowed himself to be put into a submission hold.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hmm, I was a Canadian kid rooting for Michaels if that helps. I've always been a huge Michaels mark, since he first went solo. (Probably would have been before that too, but I'm too young to remember much prior to him kicking Janetty through the glass.)

Also, Bret was selfish not to want to drop the title in Canada. His ego got in the way of business. It isn't as if the show was actually in Calgary or something, Montreal isn't anywhere near his hometown, and fans deserve to see clean title changes when possible, not guys laying down the belt the next day.

[/ QUOTE ]

Bret's main focus on doing this was he didn't want to drop the belt to HBK because HBK wouldn't drop the belt to him at the start of that year when he had to go for surgery. Remember the whole 4 way match at the In Your House event with Bret/Stone Cold/Undertaker and someone else I can't remember. All because HBK wouldn't lose the belt to Bret.

BTW do canadian fans still boo HBK for that night in Montreal ? I quit watching wrestling around year 2000 or so it just lost its appeal to me after being a HUGE fan my whole life but I remember one time probably a year or 2 ago when they were back in Montreal and the fans just layed into HBK still. It like that all over canada still ? Has Bret ever been back on WWE since his Hall of Fame thing ?
