This China obsession of yours is a bit weird.

The comment above is a bit weird!!!

China has over 1.2 billion people, if any of these online gaming companies can attract a fraction of this population to play on a regular basis, they'll be tons of money to be made.

[/ QUOTE ]

All that may be true, but it is no excuse to post 1.2 billion posts in 2+2 about the Ho's poker venture in China.

"Poker: China's Next Frontier" would be an equally good title!

Instead of making Nike shoes and other items the Chinese Gov't could make work camps where the people have to learn to play poker. They could use stolen/photo copied 2+2 books and the people have to give the state the winnings.

Imagine a couple million Aba's on Party??

I think this highschool paper needs work. First of all China probably has about 100 million people with the ability and wealth to log on and play. Also what is deemed a middle class type income in China would be a welfare type income here. Unless you play 5 cent 10 cent don't expect to see more than the occasional rich fish above this level. Also what about India(almost as large and just as wealthy at the top of the pyramid)?

Oliver, you've done a lot of research, but you keep quoting this 1.2B population figure while ignoring the fact that the vast majority are dirt poor w/o the money or means to deposit money into a site.

something I seriously don't know - what is the % of people in China who own a computer? % who have internet access?

[/ QUOTE ]

Come on, don't muddy up the argument with facts. LOL

[/ QUOTE ]

China currently has over 50 million internet usuers. By the year 2010 it's supposed to have more interent user's than any other country.

Is WPT/WSOP popular or even shown over in China?

Edit - n/m started reading the article and it says WPT has just got broadcasting rights over there.
