Default Can an otherwise healthy individual die from lack of sleep?

Can a 20 year old male with no visable problems have his heart stop working for whatever reason due to lack of sleep? With stimulants? Exercise? Stress? What about in an individual who has generally had heart problems run in the family (something common like heart attacks past a certain age)?

Not from lack of sleep alone. From stimulants, sure. Get off the crank, man.

Yes. Healthy rats died after 28 days or so of sleep deprivation.

EDIT: There's a crimson challenge buried in here somewhere.

The Wikipedia seems to think no.

Nope have not. Also, those wiki articles don't look very professional or conclusive :\

You'd be more likely to get yourself killed as a result from staying up so long than to die from lack of sleep itself.

You might not die, but you'd definatly go crazy after a week or two.

Well, I was just thinking that after a prolonged period of no sleep, considering your heart is working overtime and your blood pressure is going to be really increased, if you could have cardiac arrest due to simple overload, from trying to do something cardiovascular like running.
