A playoff system would put a non-conference winner as the national champion far more often then the bcs system does.

But if you're going only have ONE game to decide the post season, you're going to want more stringent criteria for the participants.

Why is Va Tech even in this argument? Did the game between LSU and Va Tech not happen? If voters are torn between the two, they could just look at their head-to-head matchup for guidance.
