since i've been getting 3bet relentlessly by regs since i increase my vpip/pfr, let me ask you guys:

what would be more effective do you think: normal 4-bet size or 4-bet shoving?

don't worry about whether i should 4bet for now, just want to know about most effective bet size.

I was going to ask a very similar question. I will modify your question to include: What's usually a good situation where 4-betting is correct? (Obv, "it depends", but general thoughts would be nice).

i meant to say when i 4-bet light. shove makes sense, just thought perhaps shoved looked more bluffy.

so if you 3bet me with 99/AQs and i shove you are more likely to fold than if i 4-bet you normal size?

this is assuming you have a history of 3-betting me and i have been a bit laggy with my opening range.

tannennj's 4bet post in the sticky is pretty good and covers a lot of the issues in this topic.

If they 3bet light, just 4bet back with good hands.

Shoving will fold everything your ahead of and get called by majority of hands that chrush you.

So 4bet is fine.

Obviously retarded if your going to do it vs somneone who isnt 3betting you light and also retarded if you fold to a shove with good hands - Sicne odds are awesome, but theyre also prob storng so its a sucky spot.

Your prob not getting 3bet very light, and your FE may suck btw.

I think that 4bet shoving will get called lighter by alot of people than an actual 4bet using the pot button or slightly less. Seems I have watched a ton of 4bet shoves end up being AK/QQ/JJ type hands.
