Default Cross post: How to backup PT?

I posted this in the software forum but there's much more traffic in here and I'm quite short on time. If this isn't cool, mod feel free to zap this thread.

Sorry if this has been asked before but my search of the forums came up blank.

What I'd like to know is what I need to do to backup my copy of PT to an external hard drive. Do I just go in to Program Files and copy the PT folder across? Also, if the backup is needed how would I go about getting all the data back in?

Basically my hard drive is playing up and won't start up, and it seems a reformat is needed. I have however managed to access it via my bother's PC and am in the process of saving all the important stuff (mainly PT and note files for my sites). Yes, I know I should have backed everything up before but now this is the kick in the ass that will ensure I'll be doing in regularly from now on.

Any advice would be very greatly appreciated as I'm trying to sort this out at the moment.
