Default ($55) Bubble JJ faces odd sized raise

Just got to the bubble. This is the first "odd" raise I've seen from villain. What could it mean and what's your play here?

PartyPoker, Big Blind is t150 (4 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com

CO (t1760)
Button (t3085)
SB (t1885)
Hero (t3270)

Preflop: Hero is in BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I'd push here. With the villain not doing anything out of line up until this point, why would he bet this large with QQ+ which are the only hand you really fear?

To me, this is one of those examples where it is easy to get weak tight with a big stack on the bubble. The money in SNG's is 1st place finishes.

Also, If villain is raising 8's, 9's or 10's or AQs or something, he may find a fold. This is not likely, but it is worth considering.

You also have a ten times BB stack if you lose, and you are still in it.

Hope it worked out...

It could mean anything but JJ is way too strong to worry about it. Autoshove.

CO has enough chips that he doesn't need to risk nearly half of it on a steal raise. I'm thinking he has AA and is dying for someone to put him all in.

Nonsense. He could have just about anything and not want to push with 10BB. I would never fold here, it's just crazy to even think about it. Push and be happy.

Easy push not even close even if he beats you you still have 10bbs.

I would rather get to the money with a modest stack (25% of the chip total will do) and try to outplay two others, than risk weakening my stack to the point I go out on the bubble. If that's weak-tight, call me a weak-tightie <grins>.

I agree he could have just about anything and not want to push. The fact is that a t800 bet with a t1700 stack just about commits him to go all in. So it looks like that's what he wants, and that means he is loaded for bear. Bears eat JJ.

I think my MTT "upbringing" is causing me to think way too much in these STT's. Is it better not to think so much in these shallow 1000 chip events and just be more of a gamblero?
