Live 50NL -- playing JJ short stacked
I appologize in advance for the simplicity of this situation, but i need to end this arguement w/ my buddy on how to play JJ in this particular hand (i was not involved.)
reads: villian is new to our game and is seemingly some what new to poker. although he isnt playing many hands, we've already seen him open w/ weak aces preflop as well as call down big bets w/ middle pair. This hand is the first time we've seen a 3-bet from him. we are 8 handed, blinds 25/50cent hero is short stacked w/ $10 villian covers w/ around $35 hero opens w/ JJ from MP for $2, folds around to villian on the button who min raises, hero...? We've already agreed that villians range is likely 10's+, AQo+, AQs+ (though i think it could be wider than this). my friend claims that just calling is the best play, and then pushing any non A/K flop. i just dont see the logic here, on a number of different levels. i wouldnt think twice about pushing JJ in this spot, given our stack size. what does every1 else think? thank you for any input |
