Also, don't view me in the ZOMG GO ROCKIES I JUST STARTED TO LIK THEM LOLZ CUZ THAR GOOT camp, I think it's very close between Holliday Wright and Pujols, probably a tossup either way.

I am, however, adamant that Rollins didn't deserve it.(He did have a great season, Top 10 imo, just not close to 1st)

Holliday's road #s
.301 11hrs 55rbi .485 slugging .860 OPS

double those and tell me if he didnt play at Coors he was an MVP candidate

[/ QUOTE ]

A road OPS of .860 isn't out of line with some MVP winners (see: 2007 NL MVP).

[/ QUOTE ]

Think about it -- any Rockies reasonable MVP candidate should have a lower road OPS than any non-Phillies MVP candidate, because if you're not a Rockie, games in Coors Field count towards road OPS.

And yeah, the Rox play 27 games a year in Petco, Chavez, and San Francisco -- all pitchers parks.

All the NL MVP candidates dropped on the road. Fielder and Wright had their OPS drop by over 100 points.

Of course Coors Field helped his stats some, but also consider that three of the road parks in his division are pitchers parks. Also, the four other teams in his division were #1, #4, #5, and #6 in team ERA in the NL.

the rockies led the majors in home slugging percentage at .480 and were 25th in road slugging at .395. So anyone who doesnt think a players stats are inflated because of Coors is being blind

thats why Holliday didnt win, and that is why tulo didnt win ROY.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's unfair to just look at road stats, there needs to be a balance there. Playing in Coors for some reason seems to have a weird effect where you play worse on the road. I think it has to do with adjusting to the different kind of atmosphere. I probably sound insane and stupid but believe I'm pretty sure I am right and there is evidence to support me.

Also, I am probably not explaining myself optimally.

[/ QUOTE ]

You are very correct on this. I have heard interviews with several players describing the "Coors Field Hangover". You get used to the way the ball moves/breaks in Coors, and then have to adjust when you leave. Most players say it takes a series to get used to "normal" baseball. So Rockies players would have to go through this adjustment several times per season.

this is true. His is .859. And he is a leadoff hitter.

[/ QUOTE ]

If you are going to excuse his numbers because he is a leadoff hitter, shouldn't you also punish him for having a mediocre OBP for a leadoff hitter?

[/ QUOTE ]

If you're going to give him major props for a high OPS for a shortstop, shouldn't you also punish him for not being nearly the best defensive shortstop?

As for Hanley he's very good but terribly defensively, Even if he was on a good team is defense is so bad it would pretty tough to consider him MVP.

[/ QUOTE ]

Too bad you weren't a ROY voter.

that doesnt explain the home/road disparities since they play these pitchers in both parks

again, the rockies were 25th in SLG on the road .. not 10th or 11th, 25th
