I didn't think it was LDO so I looked it up out of curiosity.

Last year, Matt Treanor made a base salary of $380,000 for the Marlins.

Misty May-Treanor made a combined $390,000 on the US and international tours.

I just figured the MLB minimum would be high enough to be close to whatever the best pro beach volleyball player would make and it turns out I'm right. However, that doesn't take into account endorsements, in which case even though it's a fringe sport I suspect her compensation here is far greater than him doing ads for waterbed stores in the Miami area or whatever he can get.

That is Misty May's salary on her tour. She is a gold medal winner, she is set for life. I know a girl that won the gold in the Skeleton in the 2002 Winter Olympics (she was a part of the big controversy in 06) and she has lived off that gold medal for 5 years now, she hasn't done anything competitively or anything since and his worth millions. And that is just the Skeleton, not Volleyball which I would assume would bring bigger endorsements (Vidal Sassoon or whatever).

Misty May is worth a lot.

Ah, I didn't know that with the gold medal came such wealth over such a long period of time. For the record, I am not a Misty May fan. Her ass is just too big for my liking and she has a super busted face. I do realize that I am in the extreme minority on this opinion though so I don't expect to change anyone's mind. But good for her husband regardless; he apparently married up.
