Default Letting the small stuff slide

While browsing I noticed a growing trend to protest and whine about every little problem, so I’m here to suggest the following. All the insignificant inconveniences that people love to complain about are meaningless! It's your constant negative thoughts on the subject that give them meaning and cause so much angst. So I'd like to make a friendly suggestion that you let them slide, and remain focused and appreciative of all the positives in your life.

Choose to feel happy rather than right and you'll notice an incredible shift in your emotional well being. People often sacrifice their happiness in an attempt to be right and prove someone else wrong. It is the ego's desire to be right that creates so many problems within.

The way you feel is always a chose because emotions are merely a reaction to your thoughts. It's a cause and effect relationship. Remedy your thoughts and the way you handle certain situations and the emotional benefits will be evident.

I'm aware I'll receive some negative feedback regarding this post, but I sincerely hope it can help some shift their thinking and ultimately feel happier. I’m constantly doing my best to apply these suggestions and it has improved my perception of life enormously. Best of luck to all!

I can't say for certain, but I bet you read this book and lifted most of this post from it.

You're mistaken. I tolerate no disrespect. If you have self-respect and recognize your true worth you will never allow anyone to disrespect you. While I avoid trivial arguments and concentrate my energy on positive things, I will never stand by and allow myself to be abused. Arguing and condemning people doesn't earn you respect, it tends to attract the opposite.

Nah haven't read it, but I've heard it's good. Though I have learnt a great deal from books, the post was written entirely by me and in my own words.

Obviously these concepts have been covered in better depth and worded more eloquently in books. I don’t claim to have invented these ideas, just trying to spread a message I’ve personally found helpful.
