Default Which mp3 player?

Hello.

My ipod has finally bit the dust and I could do with a new mp3 player for when i'm running. I do NOT want another iPod of any description as this one has been continually rubbish for 2 years. I also want one which is easy to transfer tunes on from windows media player and maybe around 5gb. Ideally <$200.

Suggestions?

Cheers,

Matt.

Sounds like what you need is an iPhone.

I like the slimline samsungs as a nano-alternative. I have this one: Samsung-YP-K3JAB-Ultra-Slim-Player

Brief overview: around $150 - 4GB - includes an FM radio, looks nice, good battery life so far, and if you are a DRM fan you can get the plays-for-sure music subscriptions that work with this.

For those spending $150 on 4gb players -

If small size is not crucial to you, I recently bought a 30gb Zen Vision M for $157 shipped, after $50 mail-in rebate. Check slickdeals et al for which retailers are offering the rebate. Matt85 - it is designed to sync with WMP, though you don't have to use WMP by any means.

Ditto. Mine is the 8 gig one, and you can get it for $175 to $185 on sale.

Durable and overall nice. Navigation could be a little quicker, but otherwise straightforward.

There was a thread on this just a couple weeks ago that is worth searching for.

Not: I've seen the 60 gig version for well under $200 on sale. It's worth checking places like buydig.com and newegg.com every couple weeks because it seems like one version or another of these is very often on sale at a steepish discount.
