Hehe. I'm not an expert on poker, especially tournament play. I think variance in tournaments is terrible and ring games seem to be just as profitable, so I don't like tournies at all. But it seems to me that longer tournies generally favor more skilled players.

More hands give a greater impact to the statistical advantage of a skilled player (law of large numbers). Also, an easier blind structure seems to allow more thoughtful play (huge blinds force desperate coin-flip situations with players all-in before the flop).
