15-30 omaha limit high hand. 2/3 structure
Hi guys, I know this is basically a PLO forum but I dont know where else to turn, so heres a boring Omaha limit high hand.
4 people limp in and I complete in the sb with Kh Qs 7s 6d, and the BB checks. The flop comes out Js Ts 3h. I check, two others check, a person bets, another person raises, the action is now on me. What should I do? Assume flop bettor and raiser are both unknowns. Also would your strategy on the flop change if both the flop bettor and raiser were bad players who were generally too aggressive? Thank you very much for anyones comments. -Wes |

i have two draws, plus two overs, i am calling here all day.
i must admit, i probably suck at omaha, but i didn't drive all the way to MCC to fold a flush draw+OESD+two overs. ps, nice picture |

If a good player bets this flop and another good player raises this flop, then I think we have an easy fold becuz the combination of a set and a nut flush draw being out, and the problem that KQ could be in someone else's hand is just too high. Plus those times I do coldcall and hit the turn, the chances I collect any river bets from these guys will be very low cuz it will be very obvious that I have a straight so my implied odds are not very high either. If an overagressive player bets this flop and another overagressive player raises this flop, then I think we have an easy call becuz our flush draw will be live very often, I wont have to beat as many redraws should I hit the turn and my implied odds are good cuz these guys will pay me off with very little. If the flop action involved a bad player and a good player then I dont know what to do. In the actual hand I folded the flop, and I think it was a mistake cuz both the flop bettor and the flop raiser were overaggressive bad players. For those who care about the results, yes the turn was an offsuit 9 and yes my hand wouldve held up. So live and learn I guess. |

check calling the flop is good. Bet out if you hit the turn IMO.

I'd call. You're calling 2 SB into a 10 SB pot which gives you close to the right odds to call just w/your open-ender and the flush will be good fairly often when it hits too.

Wes, I think you should call. -Mike (I've never played Omaha in my life.) [/ QUOTE ] Hi Mike, This is actually my first time playing Omaha limit high besides my experience with the pokerstars play money tables. I did read Bob Ciaffone's book on Omaha so I did have some kind of foundation to worth with. I felt compelled to join this game cuz it was a round by round game, with the other game being limit holdem. Also, this is the highest limit in the detroit economy that I know of. I wish a 20-40 or 30-60 game could be sustained here but thats just not gonna happen. BTW, I folded the flop and I think it was a mistake and I'll say why in another post. |
