2. Look at his justifications for continuing to be allowed to troll:

"Lots of people responded"

That's right, he should be allowed to troll because he's good at it. Wonderful.

[/ QUOTE ]

I believe his argument was "a decent chunk of people responded POSITIVELY, liked the posts, and wanted me to keep posting, etc"

Though I dont think people responding positively to your posts is sufficient to keep you from being banned, it is kind of unfair of you to twist his statement like that (unless you're referring to something else, which, if so, my bad)

[/ QUOTE ]

As an example of how much a "positive response from some users" means, some people, maybe 5 or more, responded positively when there was horse porn posted inline in BBV4L.

Pudge, I did do that when I first started posting a lot here. It was common over at FBGs and never a problem. Once people asked me to cool it, I made a clear effort to change, and I now often respond to many posters and many different points in just one post.

But you got banned from that forum.

Also, can you please answer goofy's question. I really want you to point to any information on the internet or otherwise about this historic onslaughter.

Ya that is the link.

Wow, that is the greatest thread I've ever read. Assani, I love you. EricW, take notes.

I looked up that book in my library's catalog and it doesn't seem to be there, though. Any ideas where I can find it? Do you have a copy you could loan me? I know a rare resource like this is probably valuable to you, but you seem to have mastered the techniques inside and I can provide a lot of references from people I've done transfers with and met that I'm trustworthy and will not grim your book.

which doenst change the point that the argument was twisted.

also, I think him using the number 5 was a joke, though you never can tell. The real number of people who really like some of his OPs is much much bigger.

Also, Boro, agree 100% re: the comedy of that title.

[ QUOTE ]
i think people would stop talking about the onslaught threads if assani didn't so vigorously defend them.

[/ QUOTE ]

LOL, this is the pot calling the kettle black if I've ever seen it. Here is basically what happened:

1. I posted an onslaught thread
2. People complained
3. I DID NOT DEFEND IT. RATHER I JUST SAID 'PLEASE MOVE ON IF YOU DON'T LIKE THIS THREAD.'
4. People stayed and complained some more and called me a troll
5. I defended myself against these accusations.

[ QUOTE ]
assani, one characteristic of a good poster is that, even when they disagree, they can present someone else's point fairly and respond to its actual content, rather than mischaracterizing it and rebutting by claiming the person is saying a bunch of things they never said, either deliberately or because they just lack the ability to grasp the point.

[/ QUOTE ]
I would agree to an extent. I think its also the responsibilty of the initial poster to clearly explain his point. You can't just blame any mischaracterization of the points on the one party trying to interpret it.

[ QUOTE ]
the fact that you don't understand what i mean by 'flooding a thread' is a good example.

[/ QUOTE ]
I honestly didn't. I fail to see why thats my fault any more than yours. I very much understood what Pudge meant, so if you meant the same thing then I would say he did a much better job than you. And I have apologized for that in the past and have stopped doing it.

[ QUOTE ]
i illustrated it pretty clearly.

[/ QUOTE ]

You wrote:

he is also trolling by flooding the forum. if i wanted to type 3000 words worth of gibberish every time someone called me a bad mod, i might get people to shut up because they didn't feel like reading it all. but it wouldn't make me a good mod. if assani is such a great poster and has such great arguments, there is no reason why he can't respond in a few sentences as to why he cherry picks statistics, or why he does things that are clearly designed to be obtuse and confusing for no apparent reason.

I very much disagree that you illustrated it clearly. In fact, I'm still uncertain if you're speaking about my longwinded posts or making a short series of many posts(like Pudge). If you're complaining about the former, then I find that particularly ironic that one poster(you) is accusing me of posting too much in one post while another poster(Pudge) is accusing me of posting my thoughts too spread out over too many consecutive posts.

[ QUOTE ]
your introduction of your lower post count is a great example of a statistic that has no bearing on the argument, but which you bring up because you think it proves your point.

[/ QUOTE ]
Perhaps I misunderstood your initial point because you weren't clear. That is why my counterpoint did little to advance the debate.

[ QUOTE ]
also i know a lot of people who scored 1290 on the SAT and got a 3.0 in college, and yet they are still [censored] morons.

[/ QUOTE ]
Perhaps this is a symantical debate over the word "moron" then. Either way, if you happen to think that I'm not a very smart person, then I don't care to debate it. Maybe you're right; Maybe you're wrong. We are each born with different positive and negative abilities. If I have been born with a low intelligence and bad judgment, then thats just the way God made me.

Interesting that NT! was just accusing me of:

assani, one characteristic of a good poster is that, even when they disagree, they can present someone else's point fairly and respond to its actual content, rather than mischaracterizing it and rebutting by claiming the person is saying a bunch of things they never said, either deliberately or because they just lack the ability to grasp the point.

I am not banned from that forum. I am actually close personal friends with site owner, David Dodds. Shoot him a PM on there if you don't believe me. My jwvdcw account was closed I believe because I started posting under "Assani Fisher" and they don't like multiple usernames.

Edited to add: And I already responded to his question, did I not?
