This isn't long enough to qualify as an analysis, but lol @ this http://www.daytondailynews.com/s/content...=7&cxcat=35 [/ QUOTE ] His conclusion (trade Dunn and Griffey for prospects) may be correct but his analysis is eye-poppingly bad. Trade Dunn for a speedy outfielder. Right. |

Joe Morgan: Well the run differential means nothing. It is like OPS, it mean nothing in the grander scheme of things. (...) [/ QUOTE ] Let's not forget the sack of poo team that won the World Series last year. The best team with the best statistics does not always win. |

Barry Sanders, not even close. [/ QUOTE ] I love Barry Sanders. I could vote for him as best NFL player ever. However, all the "it's not even close" [censored] needs to stop in these forums. Almost always when some genius claims it's not even close, it is actually very close. |

ESPN Classic (originally on ABC) 2000 Michigan @ Northwestern Bob Griese on Drew Henson: "This is a franchise quarterback at the next level." [/ QUOTE ] Just because someone says something that turns out to be wrong in hindsight doesn't make it stupid. A lot of people had high hopes for Drew Henson in the NFL although I wasn't one of them. |

Just because someone says something that turns out to be wrong in hindsight doesn't make it stupid [/ QUOTE ] It absolutely is stupid if the person says it definitively and without a hint of doubt. How about "He has the potential to be a franchise quarterback in the NFL." |

How about "He has the potential to be a franchise quarterback in the NFL." [/ QUOTE ] boy why don't announcers just hedge everything they say - 'he might, if circumstances are favorable, grow into something resembling a franchise quarterback, someday!' meh, the guy was wrong - hyperbole is a broadcaster's job |
