No, teasing 3s to 9s is terrible

[/ QUOTE ]

2 out of 3 have already moved to 2.5 on over half of the major books.

Reading the FAQ will answer a lot of these queries - the Teaser FAQ that is.

I understand it perfectly, and I have also read Sharp Sports Betting. Why would I take +2.5 when I can get +3 for the same price? The line IS 2.5 on most books. Not just 5 dimes rogue 2.5 when everyone else has +3.

Daliman even said that +3 teams with odds of over -110 are decent teaser bets, and more when at home.

Here: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...=1#Post12190328

Edit: So you are saying a line is not Wongable if even 1 book still has the line at +3 even if the odds are -130?

I may be wrong not waiting for the lines to sharpen, but that still doesn't change the fact that this could be a big teaser week.

Schwatt,

I don't care what Daliman says. You need to establish a true line and see where it is. And why it is there and what you gain from movements either way. And maybe learn how wong teasers are beatable.

Schwatt, I suggested reading the Wong Teaser FAQ [linked to in Perf's FAQ at top of forum], and you respond by linking to a weekly Dali thread. I hope you don't think they are the same thing.

Read it or don't read it, no skin off my nose, but if someone asks for a book to read and I suggest The Great Gatsby, and they come back and say they didn't like Lolita, I start to wonder about them.

Guys am I understanding the Wong Teasers correctly?

From what I understand there are only 2 games this weekend which are SF +2 1/2 and NE -7 1/2. Is that correct or are there more games that qualify for Wong Teasers?

From the Forum FAQ:

To spot a basic strategy teaser, look to tease games where you have a -7.5, -8 or 8.5 point favorite and/or a +1.5, +2 or +2.5 point underdog. These would tease to -1.5, -2, or -2.5, and/or +7.5, +8, or +8.5. So simply put a Wong Teaser is teasing across (not just to, but across) the 7 and 3. Either plus or minus. For example, teasing from -8 to -2 would cross key numbers at -7, -4, -3. Likewise teasing +2.5 to +8.5 would result in crossing +3, +4, +7.

I don't know why everyone keeps telling me to read the FAQ?

It all comes down to this: The only 2 exceptions I make to the +1.5 to +2.5 and -7.5 to -8.5 standard Wong teaser lines:

1. Try not to bet on road faves.
2. Sometimes bet home dogs of +3 if the odds are worse than -110.

I understand how the teasers work. I also understand that you are saying if the line is at +3 and I think it is a good line, I should bet the +3 straight up. Getting odds of -130 to push on a FG loss is garbage. I almost never take a team +3 under most cicumstances(+3.5 is entirely different). You might as well bet the ML at +120 or so, which I usually do(along with the teaser).

These are not rediculous deviations, and are still +EV bets. Taking a dog at +3 getting -130 is -EV IMHO.

These teasers are not 100% Wong teasers per se, but are still +EV bets. Sorry if I mislabeled them as Wong teasers. I will never use the term again.

End of discussion, I will stop posting about this now.

Thanks for chiming in guys, but I am sorry I don't completely agree with everything you say.

Schwatt,

Because you don't really have a clue what is going on.

I understand you are obsessed with the line sharpening, but don't say I don't have a clue when I most certainly understand how they work.

You start your teaser thread 5 mins before kickoff, because anything before that is -EV in your eyes.

You are free to disagree, of course, but you asked for help on Teasers, and help was provided, and you disagree with it. Don't be surprised when people point to the Wong Teaser FAQ as the resource for Wong Teasers.

Saying +3/-130 is 'garbage' is going to be wrong a significant % of the time.
