Default Trip Report 9/10 to 9/16 Wynn, Bellagio etc.

This was my first trip to Vegas since I started
playing poker seriously. I checked into the MGM on
monday night but wanted to play at the Wynn. They
had a 8/16 mixed game going but that broke when I
got there. Ended up playing 4/8 hold'em for a bit.

The next two days I played the 10/20 O8B. The
compitition was tough. Same faces every morning. As
for the Wynn; very nice room, tables/chairs and
staff. They also set me up with a room for thursday
night.

On wednesday night I was back at the Wynn. My sleep
schedule for the week was 2pm to 8pm. They had a
dozen names up but weren't too eager to open up
another omaha table. So it was off to the Bellagio
for some 8/16 hold'em.

I read the thread where everyone trashes the
Bellagio. Yes the felt was dirty, the tables were
bunched together and the chairs wouldn't roll but
the action was great and so were the dealers. In the
four sessions that I played at the Bellagio ( two 8/16
& two 15/30 ) the games were soft and hardly any pre
flop chops. The wednesday night 8/16 game broke at
4:30am and I walked back to the MGM. Bad Idea. The area
infront of Ballys was filled with gangbangers and
hookers. The gangbangers followed me to the end of Paris.
Luckily for me there was a group of construction workers
that crossed the street at that point.

Early saturday morning after a night of partying with my
friends that flew out from Boston for a bachelor party I
took a chance at the 15/30 game at the Bellagio. It was
my most profitable session cashing out 3+ racks. Because
the room was practically empty most of us would get up
and try out chairs.

All in all I had a good time. The cocktail waitresses
at the Wynn and the Venetian (no poker just blackjack)
were the hottest. But there was a tall one with long
light brown hair that worked the graveyard at the
Bellagio that caught my eye.

Some other obervations. I wanted to at least play one
tournament at the MGM but was late for registration. On
the board spread 2/4, 3/6 & 4/8 hold'em. When I brought
this up and asked why they don't just spread 3/6 & 6/12
( the use grey $3 chips for the drop boxes ) the floorman
just shrugged. The Planet Hollywood room looked nice.
When they ever get done with the construction I could see
it being a popular room. We stayed at the Rio for the
weekend they were spreading a 4/8 O8B game.

Nice report. Pretty much in line with my experiences except that I've found the 10-20 limit O8 to often be a soft/loose game.

Also, you are correct about the walk from Bellagio to MGM. Its a long way, and typically you are better off forking over the $5-8 for a cab.

Does 10/20 08 run consistently at Wynn? I play almost exclusively limit hold'em in LA, so I like to splash around in Omaha as a "vacation game" when I'm in Vegas.
