Default $3R - KQo on the button

God I hate those [censored] spots in low limit donkaments. Everytime I fold, I get shown junk and everytime I call I'm up against a monster. Once again I'm getting over 2:1 on the call and don't know what to do because hand reading is nearly impossible against those donks...

Should I have checked the turn (board looks a bit too scary for a free card)? What's the play on the river?
