I wonder if a study's ever been done to check the mathematical correlation between those whose FTP accounts get hacked, and those who download warez, participate in file sharing, etc.

FTP may be not be part of the solution, but they aren't the ones hacking your account, or putting keyloggers on your system.

Undoubtedly near 100%, but it's okay because they have all the latest spyware and antivirus software installed!

I agree this is where most problems arise from, Has anyone asked FTP to not allow any transfers from their act? I wonder if having this option blocked would make everyone feel safer.

I bet with this kind of crap going on FTP will soon not offer P2P transfers, why offer options that is giving them bad press.

Furthermore, there is insufficient evidence to link "W" to the compromising of your account. The logins did not occur from a computer he has ever used. His location is entirely different than that of the foreign login

This has got to be the dumbest statement yet from FT!
Hackers don't use their own IP address. They use other
computers that they have taken over, and they use proxys
to hide their IP.

I was planning on tring out FT but I think i'll pass!

We have no reason to suspect this player was involved, other than being the recipient of a P2P transfer which he claims was a legitimate transfer, albeit offsite. And because we have no way of
verifying any information regarding offsite transfers, this transfer must stand. We cannot simply make assumptions regarding any involvement "W" has and there is no evidence to suggest he has compromisedyour account in any way."

[/ QUOTE ]

What a bunch of [censored] morons. If you were going to scam "W" you wouldn't even send the money. Can they really be that moronic?

So someone robs a bank and drops off the money at a friends house. Since the friend clearly isn't the one who robbed the bank he should be able to keep the money. I mean there's no sure way to tell if he was in on the robbery so the money is clearly his, right?

Responses like this do make the inside job scenario more likely as there is no way that something this moronic will stand. All the inside man has to do is delay the response to give the scammer time to move his money off-site. Similar patterns were seen in previous FTP scams when FTP email systems were down exactly in the time frame when the scam occured, again giving the scammers time to move the money off-site.

im starting to think that something isn't right at full tilt. This has the smell of internal fraud. To many accounts getting hacked etc. Notice how full tilt is the site with most of these claims.
