Default 100 NL, how good (or spewy) is this?

Villain has standard FR tagfish stats (11/7). Haven't seen him do anything special.

Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 7 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $61.65
BB: $100.00
Hero (UTG): $101.85
UTG+1: $105.75
MP: $101.50
CO: $262.40
BTN: $40.50

Preflop: Hero is dealt 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (7 Players)
Hero raises to $4.00, 5 folds, BB raises to $12.00, Hero calls $8.00

Flop: ($24.50) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($24.50) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $18.00, BB calls $18.00
Ok, so it looks like he has KK/QQ. I'm prepared to fire twice to get him off it.

River: ($60.50) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
BB bets $20.00, Hero insta-shoves
LOL blocking bets. Get the [censored] outta here!

Post flop looks sexy.

Preflop is a big WTF! Unless you have a really loose/laggy image this has to be a fold. I mean most villains are only 3betting QQ+, AK.

I doubt AK checks twice though.

I think it's very likely KK/QQ (KK more likely than QQ) blocking because he doesn't want to call a big river bet.

on the outside it looks good. from experience, i can say that half the time i try to bluff raise a blocking bet i get called down by a very marginal hand. for that reason i have lost the ballz to try this move, but maybe it has made me too weak.

I don't think you left yourself enough money left for the river bet to get him to fold. Villain has decent odds to call the river push.

If you were going to try this move, I think the turn would have been a better spot for the big bet because you could have overbet the pot and gave him terrible odds, plus Villain would also have to fear another bet on the river.

Or, you could have checked the turn, then put in a bigger bet/raise on the river. Anyway, if you were planning on going to the felt with this hand, I think you should have done it in a way to give Villain the worst possible odds to call.

If you're plan was just to take a stab at the pot on the turn, then I would have given up on the river.

Still $50 for him to call. I don't think that's too bad.

Check twice and then bet/raise river? Yikes. No one believes that.

I don't think its terrible, but I bet the flop and turn instead of turn and river in this spot.

It looks like he flopped top set to me. Everyone who flops top set always checks the flop. Then he c/c the turn. Then he bets the river to make sure you don't check behind. It stinks of a set of aces to me. I fold the river w/o hesitation.

And yeah, wtf preflop. You would have to be a poker genius to play that hand for a raise and reraise in EP in a winning manner.

It looks like Villain gets 3-1 on the river call. I'm not sure that's bad enough given that he led into you on the river. I'm just saying you had a chance to give him much worse odds than that to call if you would have bet more on the turn, that is if you were planning on bluffing off you're entire stack on this hand, which you apparently were.
