An Ax spot I get wrong
Villain is a 30/20 TAG. Do I see showdowns on these?

Please note, calling down in these spots and losing does not equal being wrong.

mattnxtc,
I was responding to OP's thread title, but I get your point. Btw, since when did 30/20 become a TAG? |

Re: An Ax spot I get wrong
Hand 1: I'd prefer raising somewhere or fold the river. With the line you take you basically get value bet or screw played every time (at least if I'm the SB.) On this board you know you're done if he plays back at you, so I would probably just raise the flop. I think WA/WB lines let your good opponents play perfect poker against you most of the time. If he can 3-barrel here with an underpair and is unobservant, then your line is optimal.
Hand 2: 4 handed poker is a strange thing. If this situation came up in 6-max I would be folding. This is not the type of hand I like to 3-bet with, specifically because of what happened in this hand. I'm folding the river in this one as well unless I have a reason to think he's spewy or my image isn't good. |

Re: An Ax spot I get wrong
perfect play against TAG:s. Raising will only fold their bluffs or weak hands and allow them to 3-bet strong ones.

"Raising will only fold their bluffs or weak hands and allow them to 3-bet strong ones"
sb in hand 2 does not fold tt-kk postflop. the only ax hands he coldcaps are like ak aq maybe ajs. if he will 3bet those and let us fold turn or river ui then it's an easy flop raise. |
