Default JJ on the bubble

This is my first MTT post (though I have posted a lot on the cash forums).

This is an MTT on CakePoker. Top 4 places paid.
I had an image as a tight player.
Previous hand I doubled up with pocket Kings.

Hand #1098249943000151: Tournament Table 2
Seat 1: Hero (5710.00 in chips)
Seat 2: MP (6485.00 in chips)
Seat 3: Button (15626.00 in chips)
Seat 5: SB (9961.00 in chips)
Seat 9: BB (11718.00 in chips)
Hero posts ante of $50
MP posts ante of $50
Button posts ante of $50
SB posts ante of $50
BB posts ante of $50
SB: posts small blind $400
BB: posts big blind $800
Dealt to Hero [ J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ]

Is this an easy push?

Yes, sorry someone woke up with a better hand. Not pushing here would be criminal.

Must be way way too used to deep-stacked cash games. Easy push.

Hit the nail right on the head.
My main problem with tournaments has always been these bubble situations.
From what I understand, bubble play is what separates the winners from the losers.

I'd suggest doing some STTs. They're really good practice for bubble and short stacked play. A lot of the winning STT players only play premium hands until they get near the bubble, then they turn on the pushbot switch and dominate.

I would push here as well. 9 handed table I may not warrant a push (though it's not the worst idea either) Another reason this is a good push is that your oppoenents just saw you double up the hand before. They are going think that you don't have a premium hand (though JJ isnt the easiest to play sometimes)and that now you are just trying to bully them around. Though AQ will probably call you and you're racing, you're on the bubble and thats why this play is even that much better.

The only MTT bubble play that seperates winners from losers is stealing blinds from those that think they're playing the bubble well by being uber tight.

SNGs are another story, where bubble play is everything.
