[ QUOTE ] tug, Paralyzed one is up there as far as best 2+2 threads ever. [/ QUOTE ] Link? [/ QUOTE ] Here. And this time I waited for the link to load so I didn't eff it up like the other thread. It's powerful stuff, albeit pretty depressing. |

Re: Posts of the form \"Ask [personX] about [topic Y]\"
I believe beenben was the first with his first version of Ask beenben a Legal Question thread, which apparently got deleted. As others have said, dozens of threads followed in the next few days. After that, the trend basically stopped as people ran out of topics, but you still see one pop up every now and then.

This one about gay/bi/transgender community was also pretty good:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...part=1&vc=1 AAmaz0n was a good poster, but doesn't post much now. |

Re: Posts of the form \"Ask [personX] about [topic Y]\"
I forgot how many of these there were, so I just did a search:
Forum: OOT Keywords: +"Ask " -re (in subject) Newer than 1 year Over 200 results. Probably 80% in the "Ask [personX] about [topic Y]" category. Pretty good stuff. Also some good ones in the Lounge, as well as the strategy forums... |

I never thought to include -re in a search. Thanks! Is there a search faq anywhere on 2+2? I checked the beginners' questions forum, to see if this -re trick was included in the sticky, and unless I missed it, there's not even any mention of the search function. Since posters are often instructed to use it, it'd be nice if using it efficiently was covered somewhere. |

Is there a search faq anywhere on 2+2? [/ QUOTE ] Have you searched for it? [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] I just did a +search search searching of course for 'search'. Search searched and searched, and returned search results including this search thread...from one also searching for search help. If you search within this search post, you should find another's search link to a guide on how to search for - among other things, 'search'. |

Re: Posts of the form \"Ask [personX] about [topic Y]\"
I'm pretty sure it originated on the SomethingAwful forums. In fact, they have a dedicated Ask/Tell forum that is nothing but these.
