Re: PLO minbuy strategy
It's more or less proven that it can work pretty well at full ring PLO, as long as there are, at most, 2 short stackers (including yourself).
Very few people will discuss the finer points of this strategy here though, since most who are capable of it hate short-stacking with a passion. Most will politely request that you meet your end in one of a variety of less than tasteful ways. If I were a mod, I would put something to this effect in the FAQ. |

Re: PLO minbuy strategy
Go live in a grease fire.
Also, FR would probably work best for someone shorting. I wouldn't hate shorting so much if it wasn't just a constant hit and run; not to mention they sit in all the time on my HU games and refuse to leave when BOTH players want it. If you intend to play after doubling up and don't sit in and ruin games when asked then feel free to skip the grease fire. But if you're gonna leach like the type i described, then by all means, dive right in. You'll need a bigger bankroll because its basically a bunch of flipping preflop vs ranges so like crushinfelt said, swings are gonna be crazy. Thats all I can muster up at the moment. |

Re: PLO minbuy strategy
It's higher variance in terms of buyins, but lower in terms of BBs.
That said, the variance, in terms of dollars, of buying in with $20 at a PLO 100 table is higher than buying in with $25 at a PLO 25 table. It's a fun way to take shots at a higher level, and I usually prefer to buy in at 40BB when doing this (and I'd never dream of jumping in with any short stack in the midst of a 1-on-1 battle). |
