Stars $1050 EPT qualifier - check raised on dry flop
My image is reasonably TAG (I think) although I made a few loose calls preflop in position. Villain is quiet and he's played some tricky hands, he's check raised all-in preflop and limp-called TT UTG.

uhm, raise more preflop? as played I would fold because this line looks like a pp who hit a set.. But still raise more preflop

I like calling and then calling all the way and betting if checked to at any point.
Not a lot of reason to think you are behind, but no reason at all to raise, you lose value when ahead and behind. Regards, Woodguy |

Re: Stars $1050 EPT qualifier - check raised on dry flop
Tough spot. I would have played it the same way you did thus far, and without a decent read i think i would call here. This really looks like a set played by your average player, except why would he check raise the flop instead of check call? If he had a set on such an unthreating board wouldnt he just check call? Its a tough call though because his call preflop doesnt make sense for any hand that he would be check raising with on the flop besides a set. My guess is that he thinks you are c-betting with two high cards and is just trying to push you off, or he has 78s, 88, maybe even 1010. Call.
oh, and raise a little more preflop |

Re: Stars $1050 EPT qualifier - check raised on dry flop
Raise more pre-flop. I think you can safely fold the flop. Think of all the hands with which you would raise a limper pre-flop and then bet hard into this many callers on this flop. Unless you are a psychopath, 99 ought to be among the worst hands your opponent expects you to have. You are representing a big pair, and he wants to get all the money in, which means you ought to fold.

I agree that this is a fold for the reasons that Foucault mentioned.
