I think you mean adsense, and it depends on the topic (some ads pay a LOT more than others) and the targeting (how likely your visitors are to click on your ads)

The only thing I've really read is that if you get 500 unique hits/day you can start making "decent money" with adsense. Nobody defines "decent money" though. Obviously it can't be a lot of money, but I think it's basically saying that anything less than 500 uniques/day and it's almost not worth your time.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm a total noob, but i'm just throwing out what i've read.

Yes I meant adsense, not adwords. My bad.
I did realize that it varies greatly with the content and the type of adds. Was just wondering if there was some kind of average of it. Guess not. The 500 unique hits, is that clicks on the ad or is that user to the page?

New users are always wondering about how many hits they need to make $x a month. I could send you 10,000 hits and you would make $0. You dont need hits, you need quality targeted traffic. You cant just send people to your website and assume that they will click on your ads. Also, You should build a website for your users. This means build a great site and dont throw adsense on it until you have established your site and are getting steady traffic. Most adsense looks trashy and since in the begining you will not have many visitors anyway - its best to give them a good impression with a banner ad free website.
